Sitra Yusuf

Sitra is a mother of two raising Muslim children in the West. She has a master’s degree in economics, but says her most important education came at home. Her husband worked long hours, and for years she was at home with the children; some days she cried more than she smiled. In 2020, she began working on herself. She values emotional presence, a home without gadgets, and children having the chance to do things for themselves. She has volunteered since college and taught for four years at her community’s Sunday Quranic school, where she saw Muslim children struggle to feel proud of who they are. She is not perfect, but knows this struggle, and now helps Muslim mothers raise confident, independent children proud of who they are.
