Who this is for

You want your child to make good decisions without you hovering, while keeping faith central in everyday family life.
Share a question or situation from home, even if you’re still deciding what kind of support fits.

Meet Sitra
I’m Sitra, a mom of two raising Muslim kids in the West. I hold a master’s degree in economics, but my most important education came at home. My husband works long hours, so for years it was just me and the kids, and some days I cried more than I smiled. In 2020 I started working on myself and learning what children truly need: a mother who’s emotionally present, a home without gadgets, and the chance to do things for themselves. Serving others has always been part of me, from volunteering in college to four years teaching at our community’s Sunday Quranic school, where I’ve seen how many Muslim kids struggle to feel proud of who they are. I’m not perfect, but I know this struggle. Now I help Muslim moms raise confident, independent kids who are proud of who they are.
The Niyyah North approach
Start with what is happening at home, connect it to development and values, and leave with a practice to try this week.
Bring the real family moment — not a polished version of it.
Make sense of the challenge through faith, development, and family values.
Leave with words, boundaries, or a small practice you can use right away.
The real-life questions
Everyday moments where values meet growing independence — without pretending one script works for every family.
Respond to meltdowns, sibling fights, and pushback with calm, clear limits that keep your connection strong.
Build a warmer relationship with prayer, practice, and responsibility without turning every reminder into a power struggle.
Create boundaries that protect connection, curiosity, and safety as your child moves through digital spaces.
Help children name who they are, respond to difference, and feel at home in their Muslim identity.
Find language for grades, friendships, Islamophobia, expectations, and the pressure to fit in or stand out.
